Spa Director Amy Lu Christopherson’s story is more serendipitous. She was a UU student working at Copy Depot in 2003. While cranking out fliers about the spa’s grand opening, she met owner Harriet McEntire-Lanka, who hired her on the spot. “I trained at Utah College of Massage Therapy and have been in the industry ever since,” she smiles. “Align is like my second family!”
Many Parkites feel the same way. Clients stay past massage times to talk; many have met friends through Align. “I have connected with whole families,” Amy Lu says. “We support each other and have fun together,” Calli agrees. “I love our clients.”
Calli reflects the love outward, too. “We donate to Running with ED, Red Apple Gala, CPPC, National Ability Center, Kimball Arts Center, Nuzzles and Co., and the Women’s Health Clinic,” she says.
But there is always time for the outdoors and family. Calli and Amy Lu love to spend time with their children (four between them). Amy Lu is an enthusiastic skier, and both women love hiking and camping. Calli and her husband also enjoy their three doggos, Salt Lake Bees games and UU football and basketball.
Still, Align and their clients are never far from their minds. “They love PC’s small-town feel,” Calli concludes. “And they love coming to Align and seeing a familiar face.”
