Tina’s Bakery offers high-quality empanadas and baked goods. It took off so quickly that the two left their jobs as a tech firm attorney (Agostina) and restaurant veteran (Valentina) within months. Agostina selected the business name from the last syllable of their names. “Mine is hard for Americans to pronounce, so I was going by Tina, anyway,” she laughs.
After a few months online, the pair opened their store at the outlets and are already on the move again. “We’re heading Downtown at 136 Heber Ave where Back Door Deli used to be, hopefully in December,” Valentina says. “We are planning a second location in Salt Lake.”
“We are one of the few PC Latino restaurants, and we felt welcomed from day one,” Valentina enthuses. “Parkites are open to learning a new culture and trying new things.”
In their off hours, the pair embrace the PC lifestyle. Valentina seconds Agostina when she says, “I like everything outdoorsy. I mountain bike and snowboard, and I am a passionate traveler.”
You can bet wherever they go, new food experiences are on the itinerary. “Food is our love language,” Valentina states. “It makes us miss home a little less, and it brings people together.”
We know you’ll savor the food and feel the love at Tina’s, a genuine taste of Argentina in the Wasatch Back.
